The next day you will explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with the colorful Pisac market, a buffet lunch and the impressive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo.

The highlight of the journey is the full-day excursion to Machu Picchu by Expedition train. With a professional guide, you will visit the Lost City of the Incas and its main buildings, such as the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana and the Main Square, before enjoying a buffet lunch in Aguas Calientes.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco

Upon your arrival in Cusco, reception at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel, with a cup of traditional coca tea to help you acclimatize to the altitude.

In the afternoon, city tour of Cusco, including the colonial and Inca sites of the Cathedral, Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Qenqo and Puca Pucara. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 2: Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas / Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel. Full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the colonial village and Pisac Indian Market, where a handicraft fair takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. You will have the opportunity to bargain with the locals for many different types of Peruvian handicrafts and jewelry.

Buffet lunch. Continue to the village of Ollantaytambo to visit its impressive Inca fortress. Return through the town of Chinchero, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Arrival at the hotel and accommodation.

Day 3: Cusco / Machu Picchu / Cusco

Breakfast. Early in the morning, pick-up at your hotel and transfer to the railway station to board the tourist class train to Machu Picchu. Arrival at Puente Ruinas station and bus ride up to the Lost City of the Incas.

Guided visit of the citadel and its main buildings: Temple of the Three Windows, Intihuatana, Main Square and more. Afterwards, bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then train back to Cusco. On arrival at the Cusco train station, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 4: Cusco / Departure

Breakfast. At the proper time, transfer to the airport.
